Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
rose to fame as a part of the cast of 'Saturday Night Live,' before starring in
such big-screen comedy films as 'Elf"Anchorman," and 'Talladega
Nights.' Will Ferrell was born in Irvine in 1967. He began his comedy career as
member of the group based in Los Angeles, The Groundlings. After his highly
acclaimed seven-year stint as a member of the cast of Saturday Night Live, he
was one of the film industry's most popular comedians through off-color
successes such as Old School (2003) and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
(2004). Ferrell was a co-founder of Funny or Die, a popular website for
streaming videos. He also enjoyed successes as an actor voiceover in animated
movies such as Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell was conceived in Irvine,
California on July 16th, 1967. The oldest child of Righteous Brothers
keyboardist Lee Ferrell and teacher Kay Ferrell, Will was--by his own
admission, not the class clown when he was when he was a student at University
High School. The quiet and studious Ferrell made his mark on the football pitch
and set a school record for most field goals made. Ferrell was more of a
laid-back person in suburban homes and didn't have the same outlandish or
humorous expressions later in his career. His mother who was interviewed by
Esquire reported that her son was pleasant and kind. "You have any
memories of those Matchbox automobiles?" Will be ecstatic in lining up all
his Matchbox cars all by himself. You'd say, 'You wanna visit Disneyland today,
or line up your cars?' And he'd have to think about it. "That's not to say
Ferrell was a straight man. The hints of his comic skills was visible every
morning in high school, as he disguised his voice to make the daily
announcements via the PA system. Ferrell was a graduate in 1986, and enrolled
at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. There he joined Delta
Tau fraternity to pursue an education as an athlete journalist.
