Brooke Christa Shields, born May 31 1965 is an American actress. As a model for children, she earned acclaim for her work for her leading role in Louis Malle's movie Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling until her teens and appeared in many dramas in the 1980s including The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli’s Endless Love (1981). In 1983, Shields decided to end her modeling career to go to Princeton University where she received an undergraduate degree in Romance Languages. Shields started acting again in the 1990s and was seen in a few minor parts in films. She also appeared in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-202000), where she was nominated two Golden Globes. Lipstick Jungle (2008-2009) was her second nomination. Shields was back on NBC in 2017 with an ongoing role as a Law & Order: Special Victims character from the 19th season of the show. Shields has the role of Beverly Goodman on Adult Swim's animated series Mr. Pickles, and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields is a New Yorker who was born on May 31, 1965 in Manhattan. She is the daughter of businessman Frank Shields (1941-1903). The mother of the couple was English, German, Scotch-Irish, and Welsh origin, and her father was of English, French, Irish and Italian ancestry.According to the work of William Addams Reitwiesner, Shields has ancestral ties to numerous noble families from Italy especially those from Genoa as well as Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Her paternal grandmother was Italian noblewoman Marina Torlonia di Civitella-Cesi she was the daughter of an Italian prince and an American socialite. Her great-uncle Alessandro Torlonia, an Italian nobleman, was the husband of Infanta Beatriz in Spain. Teri was paid a sum by Frank's family to stop the pregnancy.
