Michelle Lynn Monaghan Bio

Michelle Lynn Monaghan (born March 23 in 1976) is an American actress. Her most prominent roles include Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) and Gone Baby Gone (2008). She also appeared in for Gone Baby Gone (2008), Made of Honor (2008) and Trucker (2008). Source Code (2011), Pixels (2015) and Patriots Day (2016). She also has been recognized for her leading role as Julia Meade in the action spy film series Mission: Impossible, appearing in Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol (2011), Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol (2011), and Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018).On TV, Monaghan starred as Maggie Hart in the debut season of the crime-drama series True Detective (2014), in which she earned an award for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the drama series The Path (2016), she played the role of Sarah Lane. Monaghan was the star of the 2020 Netflix thriller Messiah. The show was cancelled after just one episode. Monaghan was born to Sharon Hammel (a factory worker) in Winthrop. Bob and John are her two older brothers. Monaghan, who is mostly of Irish and German heritage, was raised Catholic and graduated East Buchanan High School 1994. After graduation, she moved to Chicago to study journalism at Columbia College Chicago and began to model. Models have also appeared in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore as well as the United States. In 1999, she only had one semester left to finish her journalism degree. Then, she moved to New York to pursue an acting career. Before becoming an actor she worked as models and has appeared in a variety of catalogs and magazines. Monaghan was recognized in two TV roles, including a support role in Young Americans' episodes in 2000. In "Consent" Monaghan was the role of Caroline Busse. She also appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the episode. On January 19, 2001, she was featured in "Consent". The year, her big screen debut was in Perfume in the role of Henrietta. Her next film, this time as a supporting character and in 2002 in Unfaithful in which she starred Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
