Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was created in Miami, Florida on the 30th November 1977. American electro house music producer D.J., and record producer Steve Aoki is his moniker. and music executive. He is the third child of Chizuru and Rocky Aoki's kids. His father, a former wrestler was also co-founder of the restaurant chain Benihana. He has two older siblings, sister Kana (who is sometimes called by her middle name Grace) and brother Kevin (owner of the Doraku Sushi restaurant). His half-sister's model and actress is Devon Aoki. He was raised in Newport Beach and graduated from Newport Harbor High School with an 1995 B.A. in badminton. Then, he attended UC Santa Barbara, graduating w/ 2 B.A. He earned two degrees: one in sociology, and another in feminist studies. He was a student at the college who created records by himself and staged underground performances in his Biko area at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch was born as a venue for concerts. The owner was also involved in student protests at UCSB. He was the founder of a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. In his early 20s, the singer had established his own record label that he named Dim Mak-a reference to his childhood hero Bruce Lee.
